Poached Pears In Red Wine

DIRECTIONS

  1. Put wine and sugar in the Slow Cooker.
  2. Cover and cook on 2 (High) until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Place the pears into the Slow Cooker turning them well to fully coat them with the wine mixture.
  4. Add lemon peel, cover and cook on 1 (Low) for 4 – 6 hours, turning them occasionally to coat them with the wine mixture.
  5. After serving pour the wine mixture over the pears.

  1. 2 cups dry red wine
  2. 1-cup sugar
  3. 6 – 8 medium pears, peeled with the stems on
  4. 4 tin strips lemon peel
